Norka Luque and Her Journey in the Music Industry

Norka Luque is a budding Venezuelan pop and Latin genre singer. She was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela’s capital city. Residing in Venezuela’s busiest city, Norka Luque grew up with arts all around her. She was exposed to various music, singing, and dance practices. According to her profile, she would sleep listening to music from some of the greatest Latino artists.

Her parents paid for her piano and voice classes. Norka Luque also had a personal trainer who trained her specifically for flamenco. Flamenco is an art form that incorporates Arabic costumes and dances with traditional Spanish Basque dresses, designs, and dance moves.

Her early exposure to music and the performing arts helped her win various contests while in school (high school and college). The young Norka amazed audiences at fairs and won several junior competitions including the “School Festival of Gaitas” and “The “Golden Voice.”

Her time abroad (academic studies and music)

Soon after Martinez completed high school education, she traveled abroad to France. Her sole intention of relocating to this country was to further her academic studies. She enrolled in a French school where she majored in Business Administration. To stay in touch with her love for singing, she looked for gigs in French nightclubs. She would perform after classes.

French club-goers fell in love with her unique voice and her type of music. Soon a band by the name Bad Moon Rising recognized her talent and invited her to join them. This band performed alternative tunes. Together with this group, Ms. Martinez traveled to different cities in France showcasing her talent.

Relocating to the United States to pursue music

She soon felt that being with the band was not good for her as it limited her in some way. Ms. Martinez moved to the United States soon after she completed her studies. She settled in Miami, Florida. Miami is widely recognized as a hub for many Latino artists and musicians. Norka knew that she would blend right in. Indeed, she managed to blend in.

She started performing in different nightclubs in the Miami region. Her success came when she started working with the widely known Latin music director Emilio Estefan Jr. Under Mr. Estefan’s wings, Ms. Martinez was able to release her first single “As You Do It “in 2011. “Milagro” which was her second single followed shortly in 2012.

Norka’s story is an inspiration to anyone with a dream. Her story reminds you that if you are passionate about something, you should keep trying at it. With patience, hard work and determination you can break through and achieve big things.

Hunnam in Yet Another Street Role

Anyone hoping that 34-year-old English actor Charlie Hunnam might explore less violent or gang-related roles now that Sons of Anarchy ended this past year will have to wait a bit longer.

Hunnam is currently working on an alternate universe take on the King Arthur legend called Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur by director Guy Ritchie in which he plays a “street rat” known as Arthur Pendragon who is part of a gang in the city of Londonium. Arthur, after finding Excalibur, is forced to fight with a resistance and follow his true destiny to become the next King of Britain.

I was talking to someone while waiting at the Amen Clinic who made a good point: after so many years we finally get to hear Hunnam speak in that British accent again. Also, given that Sons of Anarchy was an alternate take on William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, it appears that Hunnam may prefer roles involving British historical or stage stories even though he did take on the lead role of Jaeger pilot Raleigh Beckett in the 2013 Guillermo del Toro action film Pacific Rim and this year co-stars in another del Toro film called Crimson Peak, which the director has described as a “ghost story and gothic romance.”

Jude Law and Eric Bana also have roles in K.O.R.T. as the main villain Vortigern and Uther Pendragon, respectively. Guy Ritchie plans for this movie to be the first of a six-film series based on the the English and French 1485 publication “Le Morte d’Arthur” by Thomas Mallory. K.O.R.T.’s current release date is scheduled for July 22, 2016.

There Were Some Awesome Easter Eggs in Constantine’s Pilot Episode

If you saw Constantine last Friday, you were treated to one of this season’s most promising new comic based shows. But there was also a ton of fan service, for faithful readers of the Hellblazer comic series as well.

You can see the full list here. 17 in all that they’ve found so far. Some pretty cool stuff. Love when they do the fan service for people that have been fans of other DC Comics related media.
