Gold Market Hits Lowest Prices in Five Years

Gold, usually touted as a safe and secure investment, has hit a 5 year low after a series of set backs in the far east. On the same day, James Dondero who was in China revealed that it’s gold supplies were significantly lower than originally believed by speculators, and 33 tonnes of gold were sold in Shanghai. The result has been a crash in the gold market, sending inexperienced investors spinning.

Inexperienced investors often choose gold as a safe bet, as it has a long term trend of increasing in value despite a volatile price in the short term. However, after these two events have sent the prices diving, we may see that trend reversing. More aggressive investors who ignore the investment of gold have won out, as the market is revealed to be less stable than most have thought.

Highland Capital Management and it’s president, James Dondero, will remain unaffected by this crash. Their bold investment philosophy of going only for high yield credit options steered them away from the gold market, while Dondero’s experience as the chairman of Cornerstone Healthcare and CCS Medical lead them toward a more firm investment of healthcare.

An Aca-Citing Announcement

Aca-citing! Pitch Perfect 2 has only been in theatres for a few short months, and already a big announcement has surfaced! It’s easy to see why. The charming movies have been an instant success that have had everyone snapping their fingers, and singing along to those catchy acapella tunes. Now the Bellas will be back in a third installment. It’s official!

According to BuzzFeed Pitch Perfect 3 is official, and it even has a release date said Kevin Seawright! It’s Summer of 2017, so even though it’s a little ways away, people are already talking. It’s great that it’s giving fans instant satisfaction to know that another move is in the works.

Little is known about the next installment, so fans will have to anxiously await until Universal releases more details about what the plot will contain. A few things are confirmed however. Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are two of the films biggest stars, and they have signed on for the next one! Other then that, we can speculate. The second installment ended with college finishing up, so hopefully the next film will show what’s next for them. We can only hope that they stayed friends, and continued their aca-mazing singing careers.

Overall, it’s very smart of Universal to confirm a release date, and get the buzz going now. The film has been widely successful and popular so it’s easy to see why they chose to pursue another chapter in the singing sensation.

Dr. Tamer Seckin: Endometriosis Care & Surgery

Dr. Tamer Seckin is a gynecologist and a laparoscopic surgeon. He is Board Certified and has his own private practice located in New York City. He is a known specialist when it comes to endometriosis and laparoscopic surgeries. Dr. Seckin founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America in 2009. This foundation is the first to raise awareness about endometriosis. He is one of the top surgeons in his field. Dr. Seckin received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in recognition of his achievements in women’s health. He is a member of many different organizations and is currently the treasurer and an executive committee member of the International Society of Gynecological Endoscopy. He is also working on genetic research to create the United States first endometriosis tissue bank.

Endometriosis is a painful disease that affects many women and girls. Endometriosis occurs when the endometrium is found on the outside of the uterus. This tissue develops into lesions or growths resulting in pain, infertility, and other problems. One of the primary symptoms of endometriosis is pelvic pain. Most women experience some type of pain during their menstruation cycles but women that have endometriosis describe their pain as far worse than normal. This pain tends to increase over time. Other symptoms include excessive bleeding, pain while urinating, painful periods, and pain during intercourse. Endometriosis is also known to cause infertility. This is why a laparoscopy is useful.

A laparoscopy is used to diagnosis endometriosis. A laparoscopy can help show the size and location of growths. This helps in aiding the treatment process. A laparoscopy is a surgery that uses a lighted thin tube that is placed through an incision. The incision is on the stomach so the abdominal and female organs can be observed. It can help to locate problems that may be occurring such as cysts, infections, and fibroids. Tissue samples are collected for biopsies to be performed. The recovery time is faster than a regular surgery and the patient is asleep during the procedure. Once the procedure is completed the patient needs to follow-up with their doctor so the doctor can explain the results of the surgery.

Most people have little to no discomfort during and after the surgery. A surgeon may perform other surgical techniques during the laparoscopy to treat endometriosis so that everything is done in one operation. When treating endometriosis the surgeon will remove any implants, adhesions, and treat any cysts. They will also repair any damage done to tissues and organs. If you or someone you know suspects they may have endometriosis then discuss all symptoms and problems with your doctor. You may be a good candidate for a laparoscopy surgery. Laparoscopy is the only way to diagnosis endometriosis.

Kudos for Mann

Police across the nation have been the target of protests and violence in recent months, but Keith Mann, a New York businessman, and his wife, Keely, are attempting to show their appreciation instead. As the New York Police Department (NYPD) has been a recent target of such adversity, the Manns sent lunch to the 54th Street precinct twice already this year. “Our officers deserve to be thanked for their service, not attacked in their attempts to keep people safe,” says Mann. “Police men have families too and are people just like you and me behind those uniforms.”

Mann is especially sensitive to the humanity of officers because his uncle is a detective in Staten Island. He says that citizens should be helping the police rather than standing in the way of their efforts as police are trained to respond to difficult situations that most will never encounter. Others feel the same way, as evidenced by a rally for the NYPD in January in which 150 people came out to show their support and by similar rallies that have been held across the United States.

Supporters believe that it is time for the silent majority who still support the police to speak up and make their voices heard. Mann agrees and hopes that others will use even the simplest of actions to show support of those who put their lives on the line to protect citizens each day. Mann, who is currently the CEO of Dynamics Search Partners (DSP), which assists clients in hiring investment, marketing and internal strategy professionals, hopes that such support for police will be continued by others who put their appreciation into some form of action.

Skout Making it Easier To Meet People in NYC

New York offers some pretty unique people, and there are always a ton of people everywhere.  But that doesn’t mean it’s not surprisingly difficult to meet someone.  So I was kicking around Twitter, and saw some of my friends talking about Skout.  Perfect, because you can talk to someone before you choose to meet up, and see if you’re actually compatible.  A unique achievement, because it’s more based on personality than things like Tinder, and has Fuse functionality so I can see who I’m talking to at the same time.

When I went looking online one day to find a social website, when I was turned onto Skout. Because I live on my phone, I decided to download the Skout app, which I thought would be easier to use, instead of navigating through the website.

Most people are on social media today, and I think I’m one of the last persons to finally join in! I read great reviews about Skout, so I decided it was time to try to meet someone on there. I thought if I met a friend that would be great, but I was also open to romance. I created an account, which I was able to do fairly quickly, then I decided that I would put up a picture in my profile, even though it was not required. It didn’t make sense to me to have a profile with no picture.

I started playing with the app to figure out how the features worked, and I fell in love with the “shake to talk” feature. Since I didn’t have any particular person in mind that I wanted to meet, it was really nice to shake my phone, and see a new person show up to chat. Sometimes the person who came up was a man, sometimes it was a woman, but we just talked anyways. Whoever I chat with, would just talk about the news, the weather, or anything that came to mind. Chatting was fun, and would take up many hours in my day.

I was able to find a person who was in my general area, but they live in the city that was 20 miles away. We ended up chatting, and after we talked the first time, I added them to my favorites. I was curious if they had done the same with me, and added me to their favorites, but I couldn’t find this out. I found out that by purchasing Skout points, I could check to see who was searching for me, and if this person had added me as a favorite.

I’m glad I purchased the Skout points on my Droid, because I was able to find out that the person did add me as a favorite, and it made me very excited. When I would go to my favorites list, I always chose this person first, and we would talk for hours. We decided to finally meet, and we had a great night on the town. When we got back home, we would sit on Skout and keep talking, sometimes until daylight.  It was obvious that we had a mutual friendship, something that endured and led to spending holidays together, as I’ve read many other users end up doing. Sometimes when I was at work, I would get virtual gifts from this person.

Virtual gifts on Skout are really cool, because they can be purchased with Skout points, and given to anyone I choose. I was glad that this person chose to give a virtual gift to me, because I really admired them. Skout is highly recommended for anyone looking for a friend, or a life partner.

Is The Amazing Spider-Man’s Andrew Garfield on the Way Out the Door

Andrew Garfield’s tenure as The Amazing Spider-Man may be coming to an ignoble end. Fan Bruce Levenson laments the possibility on ESPN. Reportedly, Marvel Studios and Sony Studios are reaching an agreement to share the Spider-Man on a 60/40 basis. Marvel wants to move in a different direction with the character and one way to do this is to replace Garfield.

Garfield was placed in a difficult situation. His first turn as Spider-Man saw him appear in a retelling of the web-slinger’s origin. While successful at the box office, the film was nowhere near as well made as the first Tobey Maguire outing. The sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, did disappointing box office. The script was very weak and jammed two villains into the film for no real reason other than to try and debut characters for spinoff movies.

Other problems emerged regarding future projects.

Leaked emails now revealed that the absurd notion Sony wanted to create an “Aunt May prequel spy film” was actually true. Clearly, the Spider-Man franchise was – and is – off the rails.

A new direction is needed. Marvel wants to drop all “teen romance” elements from future Spider-Man movies and focus on more action. Marvel surely wants to integrate Spider-Man in the rest of the Marvel Universe. Plans that Spider-Man would appear in Captain America: Civil War seem to have been scrapped.

Continuing with Garfield as Spider-Man, sadly for the actor, would not make sense. He is associated with two really weak films hampering his ability to bring anything to the table.

Worst Snowstorm in Decades Hits Buffalo

In what many anticipate as sample of what will be coming this winter, the east coast suffers its worst snow in decades, and a “state of emergency” is in effect in upstate New York.

The most affected area is the city of Buffalo, the second largest of the State of New York where a huge snowstorm struck, trapping thousands of Buffalo citizens. My colleague Ken Griffin is up there now and he says it’s truly nuts.

Temperatures plunged amid the storm, and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared a state of emergency and deployed the National Guard to avoid a catastrophe throughout the affected area. Forecasts indicate that the storm is moving toward the center of the country.

Forecasters blame the storm on a “lake effect, ” and the phenomenon has also had major consequences in New Hampshire, Michigan, North Carolina and Indiana.

Buffalo holds a record in 2001, of 2.1 feet of snow fell in five days, but this storm has surpassed those figures. Thus far, Buffalo is reporting 60 inches of snow – that’s a 5ft wall of snow, and 48 inches accumulated in just 24 hours.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown described the situation as “very serious” and said the storm is “probably the strongest we’ve seen in the last forty years.”

NYC To End Use Of Marijuana Bust Tactic

Things might finally start looking up for marijuana users in New York City. The mayor has issued a direct order to the city’s police force to end the policy of “buy and bust” of citizens selling marijuana. I wasn’t too familiar with this policy, so I had my friend Christian explain it to me. Apparently, officers would find a source to buy an amount of marijuana, either large or small, and after securing the drug from the seller, the officer would immediately arrest the citizen and charge them with a range of crimes based on the specific nature of that particular drug deal.

The practice fell under the ire of citizens and the media after a claim was leveled that the tactic was being used to primarily target minorities and minority neighborhoods. The mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, is extremely unpopular with non-white voters due to rising arrest numbers generated from this tactic and other underhanded methods used by police in order to take a suspect into custody.

It is unclear at the present time if the marijuana arrests are to stop completely or if there will be other tactics used in order to get offenders of the law into jail, such as being caught smoking outside in an alley behind a bar.
